Words alone will not make the commitments made in 2015 a reality. We need money and political will to deliver. The third Financing for Development Conference was a critical step on the journey to ensuring we made huge progress on poverty, inequality and climate change in 2015.
action/2015 campaigners around the world called on their leaders to attend the Financing for Development Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. On our Global Day of Action – just before the FFD Conference – an incredible 4.8 million actions in 150 countries were made.
Campaigners called on governments to tackle tax injustice, prioritise the poorest and keep their promises on aid commitments and public spending. From Nigeria where campaigners called for action against corruption, to state Finance Minister meetings across India, to a meeting with President Museveni in Uganda, to the UK where activists demonstrated on tax justice, campaigners demanded that world leaders meet outstanding spending commitments, fight the structural injustices of unfair tax and deal with many other issues.
